Email OTPs
The single most effective way to protect your data and to prevent unauthorised access to your account is to enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA).
However, if you choose not to enable 2FA, we will automatically follow an email One-Time PIN (OTP) process.
How it works¶
- On the login screen, you will enter your Email and Password as usual, and click Log in.
-
You will then be prompted to enter an Email OTP.
How to find the email OTP
- Above the Email OTP field, you will be given the first four digits of the email OTP. This will help you identify the correct OTP once it's been emailed to you.
- As indicated on the screen, you should check your spam or junk email folder if you haven't received an OTP within five minutes.
-
Enter the OTP received via email, and click Verify OTP.
Expiry and resending
An email OTP expires after 5 minutes. If you take longer than that to find the email or enter the OTP, you will need a new one.
You can request a new OTP by clicking Resend OTP.
-
You will then be logged in to the system as usual.
Trust this device
If you do not want to enter an email OTP every time you log in to the system, you can check the Trust this device for 90 days box.
This means that you will only need to enter an OTP every 90 days when logging in from that same device.
In the interest of maximum security, you can uncheck the box, in which case you will be prompted for an email OTP every time you log in from that device.
