Feature Improvement: Custom Reports
We’ve been busy improving our Custom Reports! Following the launch of this new feature, we’ve been listening carefully to your feedback and using it to identify potential improvements.
The result is a set of targeted changes that make your custom reports more flexible, more informative, and easier to navigate. Below is a look at everything that’s new.
Pay Points added to employee information
There are two new pay point columns you can add to your report:
- Pay Point: shows the employee’s current pay point assignment.
- Historic Pay Points: captures the pay point(s) that applied during the selected period.
This makes it much easier to segment and analyse payroll data by pay point, right from within your custom report.
Group by current Pay Point with totals
You can now group your custom report results by current pay point, just like with the Transaction History Report. This makes it straightforward to see totals broken down by pay point, which is handy if you manage a business with multiple departments or cost centres.
Report totals are also now displayed by default, giving you a cleaner summary at a glance.
Payslip Notes now available
Payslip Notes can now be included in your custom reports. This has been added by popular demand. This new section appears between Transactions and Leave when you’re setting up your report. From there, you can select notes for many payroll items, e.g. Basic Salary and Commission. Each selected item generates its own column in the report, displayed to the right of the relevant transaction column by default.
Year-to-Date column option
You can now add a year-to-date (YTD) column alongside any payslip item, e.g. Basic Salary, with the YTD figure automatically calculated from the start of the applicable tax year up to the Date of each row.
Reorder columns
The columns in your custom report can now be dragged and dropped into whatever order works best for you. Previously, columns appeared in a fixed order based on how they were selected. This change gives you more control over your report’s layout before you download it.
